GIRL OF NIGHTMARES - UK VS US COVER + COVER OF THE WEEK - FEBRUARY - WEEK 3

So recently my Cover of the Week has been tied in with other things such as cover reveals, but this cover is so stunning I'm going to tie it in with a Uk vs US cover.

Right so lets get started. When Anna dressed in blood was released there was no questioning it. The UK cover won, but this time round I really stuck. Obviously the main image is the same but the way they have been done are completely different. So lets take the covers apart one bit at a time. The tagline. The UK has the tagline Spellbinding and romantic, whereas the american just has spellbinding. I find that the single word quote works for me better. With the US tagline I like how it is smaller and doesn't stand out too much but I think it's too low down, whereas the UK tagline is higher up. So overall I think the US tagline just wins. Author title. Right well this is draw, because although the UK author title is a tad big for my preference the us one has patterns that are rather distracting. Main title. Well they're the same, so it comes down to the image and colours. Putting all of this aside, looking at both the covers you cant help but think, my god they're beautiful, but back to business. I don't know, I think the idea of having some parts red and some parts grayscale on the uk cover is very clever but something about it seems off to me. Maybe it the fact that her lower skin has colour but her upper doesn't?  And also the glow around her hair on the UK seems a little too pretty fairytale for a horror. And then the US. Migod. The whole red effect creates a completely magical feel. A very fairytale feel, but the kind of this-is-about-a-blood-thirsty-i'm-gonna-kill-you-ghost fairytale. And the red to me just screams blood. This is mega hard for me cause they are both beautiful and theres not to much difference but I think US has to win.

Beautiful... when books are this amazing I always find it are to write reviews because they can not be put into words. I have been trying to write this review for weeks but I think I finally cracked it. This book is definitely how you finish a series, in the most beautiful, touching, eloquent dramatic and fantastic ways. The book left me wonderstruck, both in awe and sadness. Sadness to see the series end (as it has been truly beautiful) and {SPOILER} there is a very sad ending. {SPOILER END}

The book starts with the angels and nephilim knowing that they have to stop the fall again, and they starts by trying to find the place of the fall. They then set out and travel across the world trying to find the three objects that will help reveal the place of the fall, but obviously it's not the simple. In the end they get them all, find the place, and ugh secret is revealed, they succeed and the incredibly sad ending continues... though its sad and happy at the same time.

The suspense in this novel (or rather for this novel) was so overwhelming I could not wait to get my hands on this book and I adore it so so so much! The plot line was absolutely fantastic. The books have honestly got better and better with each book and I can honestly say that this book is honestly perfect. Heavenly. Every single aspect is perfect and the hold books is complete in harmony. The storyline is clear, and easy to understand and so much effort has been pureed into this piece of master craft.

Now, I actually love Lauren Kate's writing. I have always loved hers and that was even fuelled more by Passion as I am a sucker for  tons of description, and this novel didn't fail. The description was beautiful, so crisp and vivd playing out in your mind. The dialogues was mastered out carefully, twists and turns where you need them. I find her writing gorgeous to read. It's so whimsical and angelic, and almost lyrical. It's like music to my ears, so I would love to see more from kate.

{SPOILER PARAGRAPH}Now my favourite scene in this novel would have to be both the Luce big secret scene and the end. Basically to stop the gina announcer carrying the fall luce has to get into it, but how? With wings of course. I just think its so beautiful to find out that all along Luce was an angel, and that you get to see her whole history in heaven with Daniel and Lucifer, and to find out that Daniel is not the once cursed but her. My second favourite scene would have to be the happy ever after at the end, thought it sad for a very tragic reason but I'm not going to spoil that for you, because it really is a super tragic end! {SPOILER END}

The characters are at their climax in this novel. This novel has the power to solely focus on the story and plot line because everything you need to know about all the characters has been grown and introduced in the predecessors (except about dan and lu). So what do we do? We get some amazing new characters, who really give that kick to the book! We get some really good, heart warming feel good characters. I also feel that in this book you get to see all the characters in their true beauty and perfection, even the bad guys, because what I love about Kate in this book is that she hasn't played on the bad guys being evil, but more on that fact that no one is evil for no reason. Something makes them do it, and that deep down there is always light. *hint hint* notmentioninganynameslucifer

My favourite characters would have to be luce through and through. And arinane. Ariane only because of mad awesome sauce, and because you get some really good feel good moments and laugh out loud moments with her and she is undeniably ice cool. Luce, because everything about becomes more perfect about her and she literally is pure, and it comes out in the end that she is  neither evil nor good, but truly in love, and that she is purer that god, because she doesn't play for a side. She's fights for her love and in all the world that is all she wants.

Now I must end the review to this gorgeous book and you must read it. I can honestly say that this book gave me chills reading it. It is a gorgeous book, with lyrical prose and beautiful description. 

I would read a million times till the Rapture of this world.

I love the books with a Passion so undeniable.

A life without this series would be Torture.

I have Fallen... for Fallen.

This book was actually really good. It's completely surprised with the storyline and I think is intact very unique. I think it's one of these books that only comes around every couple of years but when they do they are extremely good and I think this one could go very far! I have high hope for Crave. Now Crave is a fantastic book that will keep you enthralled and up to the dead of night, unable to put the book down. IT was thrilling tale of a Forbidden love that hasn't been done before and I loved it!


I have to admit, I had a tad of trouble getting into the book, but once I was in I could not get out The follows Savannah (but we'll call her Sav, cause it's a pain to type out! I don't how Darnell did it) and she is in school and experiences some changes only to find out she is a Dhampir, but one that shouldn't be able to exist. Half Vampire and Half Descendant (witch). Forbidden to love a boy, she falls in love with him... and so the battle begins. 


The plot is actually really well thought out an although the book sis a rather hefty 500 odd pages I didn't feel that long as it was exciting, fast paced and I seemed to whizz through it! The plot was obviously thoroughly outlined and the amount of thought that went into is clear as well as the effort. It was such a unique and beautiful plot and just so effortless to read. Gorgeous.


The writing was almost lyrical. It was just so perfect to read. There was the exact correct balance of description and dialogue that blended perfectly together t create this very real, vivid, image in your mind and it moved at just the right pace. The prose was perfect, thought. Not a fault I could see, and was a pleasure to read.


There wasn't too many character which was nice. I always hate a book where there is so many characters you can't keep track on them all. This was nice because you were introduced the characters easel and slowly so they acme a part of the book and became your friends. You felt very close tot hem and shared the same love hate emotions as them , for instance when Dylan pooped in the book you just wanted to rip him shreds, burn them on a barbecue and feed him to the ducks. (though you'd probably get arrested... especially for the ducks)


Overall is was gorgeous book and a fantastic read. The pleasure was all mine in the and I would recommend it a million times! yes yes yes! LOVE IT!

What to say... This book utterly blew me away! This was possibly the best book I have read all year so far and I am honestly having trouble keeping the excitement inside of me, writing this review, to stop me from leaping into the air! Words can simply not explain how I feel about this book. It was such a beautiful, gorgeous deadly book! Anna dressed in blood will chill you to the bone but leave you wanting so much more. This book is so exquisite and fantastic that my nose was nested in the pages from start to finish. It gave me a gruesome thrill ride from the start and even as it scared me I couldn't let go. I was up to midnight reading this novel, and then I would pull the covers over my head and go to sleep.


The book follows Cassio a ghost hunter, as he travels to kill a new ghost Anna, but she is way more powerful than any others and he starts to flu in love with her. then she stars to have a her past uncovered and more people get involved and it becomes crazy good to the extent I want to shower it will gold glitter but that would only ruin the spin of the book!


The plot. That gorgeous, gruesome, grilling plot that left you on the tips of your toes till the very end. What to say? The plot is the most developed plot I have read in months and I followed it perfectly. It was easy, to follow and simple to understand. No hidden complications, just the amazing plot laid out in words for you to read. The plot was so complex yet such a pleasure to read. It was the best of the best and you can tell no corners have been cut with this book. Every ounce of effort has been put into this beautiful book. No complaints.


The writing was like the scroll of angel. Like a piece of heaven was sliced up and placed in Blake so she could bless us with her articulate wording. It was one of the most gorgeous, whimsical proses, I have read in such a long time that it made me just lie in bed and go over the words I had read and appreciate them for the pure amazingness they were. The description was almost lyrical and there was just the balance between the storyline, description and dialogue.


All the characters were so well formed, that it led your brainy o believe that these amazing characters had been your brain the whole time and that radiant the book awakened them, which was amazing because it made you feel like they were a part of you, and you exe priced every thing with them, which is what made the book so amazing and visual. Because the characters became your friends. Also they were all so well formed as well. nothing was hidden from you. You knew everything about them and their history except for what was actually meant to be discovered later no in the book.


Over all the book was captivating, intoxicating and beautifully written. It completely fazed me and I was put in a trance from the moment I read it, and unique, one of a kind amazing story playing out in my mind. I am so lost for words with this book that I don't what to say, but I will say one more thing about it: Perfect.

I decided to read this because of the new tv show, which I am enjoying very much and I found that it was in fact very different, but in a good way! The book are quite unique and there isn't much out there in the teen market for witches at the moment, authors living in fear that their  witches may become stereotypical but Smith has gone all out and created a success.

The books are actually really nice and short as they come in a omnibus of two so I will be covering both in one review. The story lines are actually really simple and nice, and extremely easy to follow. The twist of having the witches is a nice part but my only criticism is that they need to 'USE MORE MAGIC!'

The characters are all so wonderful and created so well and you even get a soft spot for some of the darker characters like Faye. The characters are built up in a really nice close way. I remember my heavy criticism of the Vampire Diaries and a tad less criticism for Dark Visions but Smith has really got me with this book. It's just wonderful.

Favorite character... Cassie. Shy, kept to herself, exiting and extremely and speaks her mind whether it's mean or not... when she's drunk. No really, she was a really nice character to have to the book based on. She is a people person and really captures you heart and sometimes you really feel for her... a lot.

Overall, wonderful job Smith, I liked it and I guess it's onto the next two!

DARK ANGEL - EDEN MAGUIRE - REVIEW

Dark Angel is one of those books that is both thrilling and different. I was really up for this book as I adored Eden's previous series, Beautiful Dead. But this was better, by miles. The book spins a new twist on paranormal romance that hasn't been done yet and keeps you on the edge for the whole novel, just waiting to find out what will happen.

The plot is a basic good vs evil, girl discovering a alternate world theme but the way it has been done completely draws you away from that and this is what makes the book so special. It's a well structured strong plot, balanced in every perspective, and I thing it is so wonderful!

The writing was blunt yet so whimsical and it gave all the info it needed to give short and snappy not droning on and on. It's a really compelling novel, and the writing is just what it needs. It's not too much of anything, just right.

I have to admit, I did struggle with the first few chapters, but once i was in i was hooked. The characters, are pretty much set in stone. There aren't many, which is nice, because it makes it an easier book to read and build up a larger profile for each one, getting closer to them.

My favourite character would have to be Zoran, only because he is the main mystery of the novel, and you just want to know more about him, and when you do, at the end, it's so crazily, scarily, awesome that you just love him and hate him at the same time. 

This book is definitely the art of twists and mystery put onto paper with a supernatural twist and I really enjoyed it!
